Electronic Patient Records

Under the new GP contractual requirements the practice is required to advise patients regarding Electronic Patient Records.

Patient Online Access to their GP Record

Patients are able to access a summary of information relating to medications, allergies and adverse reactions. As well as viewing this information, there will be the facility to download and print it.

Summary Care Records

The practice is required to enable successful upload of any changes to patient’s summary care records, at least on a daily basis to the summary care record (SCR).

Having a summary care record available will help anyone treating you who do not have access to your full medical record to be able to access information about any medication you may be taking or any recorded allergies or sensitivities.

Roundwell Medical Centre confirms that, if you have consented to have a summary care record that this is updated automatically on a daily basis to ensure that your information is as up to date as it can possibly be.

GP to GP Record Transfers (GP2GP)

The practice is also required to use the GP2GP facility for the transfer of patient’s records between practices, when a patient registers at a new practice (not for temporary registrations).

When you register at a new practice your medical records will be sent to your new practice but this can take a period of time to reach your new surgery.

With the GP2GP record transfer your records can be transferred much quicker.

Roundwell Medical Centre confirms that the GP2GP record transfer is already active and we send and receive patients records, using this system.
